The Vision Board
A vision board is more than just a collage of pretty pictures; I call it a "Psychological North Star." Developing one annually is the act of taking the "flood of ideas" in your head and giving them a physical anchor. It is the bridge between your current reality and your Queenhood.
A lot of successful people in life (Bill Gates, Oprah, several musicians I know) make this a yearly project. They say it helps them put things into perspective for their business and personal life.
I love doing them it shows me where I have been, what was fun, what I would change and where I won't go in th next years ahead.
Why You Should Do This Once a Year
The Reticular Activating System (RAS): Your brain has a filter called the RAS. It decides what information to let in. By looking at a vision board daily, you "program" your RAS to notice opportunities, people, and "Angels" that align with your goals.
Combating "Decision Fatigue": Young adults face thousands of "Alternatives" daily. A vision board acts as a filter. If an opportunity doesn't align with the board, the answer is a "Royal No."
The Annual Pivot: You are not the same person you were 12 months ago. An annual board allows you to shed old "shoulds" and update your "Standard of Care" for the new version of you.
Visualizing the "How": When life feels like a "curse" or you’re struggling with a "failure to launch," the board serves as a sensory reminder that the current struggle is just a temporary chapter in a much larger story.
Instructions: Building Your Sovereign Vision
Phase 1: The Soul Audit (The Prep)
Before you touch a pair of scissors or an iPad, go back to your Gifts List and your Inner Happiness Audit.
Ask: "If I had zero fear of judgment, what would my life look like in December?"
Categories: Don't just focus on "stuff." Group your thoughts into: Environment, Contribution (Helping), Self-Respect (Boundaries), and Joy (Glimmers).
Phase 2: The Curation (The Gathering)
Whether you are going digital (Pinterest/Canva) or physical (Poster board/Magazines), look for images that trigger a visceral physical reaction.
The Rule: If an image makes you feel "tight" or "envious," discard it. If an image makes you breathe deeper or smile, keep it.
Include Words: Add "Power Scripts" or mantras. (e.g., "I am the architect of my peace" or "Queenhood: Here we come.")
Phase 3: The Assembly (The Decree)
Center Anchor: Put a photo of yourself in the middle—preferably one where you look truly happy and "okay."
The Mix: Balance your "Big Launches" (career, travel) with "Small Glimmers" (a cozy reading nook, a healthy meal, a hug).
White Space: Don’t clutter it. Leave room for the "Alternative" miracles you haven't even thought of yet.
Phase 4: The Activation (The Placement)
A vision board hidden in a closet is just a craft project.
Daily Exposure: Place it where you see it while brushing your teeth or as your phone’s lock screen.
The 30-Second Squeeze: Once a day, look at the board and give yourself that Self-Hug we talked about. Feel the "future" version of you as if they are already here.
The Pro-Tip
Don't wait for January 1st. Your "New Year" starts the moment you decide to take sovereignty over your life. Make sure that you develop this vision board to reflect you! Where you want to go, where you have been, your hopes and dreams, etc. Look at your vision board a lot to keep the things that you want to accomplish and experience
