Determination
Determination
As I get older you tend to ponder what kind of person you are. What makes you who you are. One thing I can honestly say is I am a very determined person. I wish I had realized this when I was younger I would probably had accomplished more in my life. One thing you need to remember is if you aren't happy with your situation change it. Do not let anything or anyone stop it. So you ask, how do you go about doing that?
1) Sit in a quiet place and think about what truly you want to achieve and develop your determination plan with it in mind. Write this down to keep yourself accountable to it! Post it on your refrigerator, upload to your phone and put it on your phone calendar.
2) When are developing your determination plan please do the following:
a) Look at each situation from all angles. Run in your mind the What If's?
b) Only consider your goals and what you determine it is what you want or need. DO NOT SETTLE!
c) Don't feel like because you are determine you are being selfish. It is wonderful to know what YOU Want!
d) Set up clear goals. Remember sometimes as life goes on you will have to readjust your goals a little bit. So be flexible with yourself.
e) Positive mindset. Believe in your ability to achieve. Don't let anyone put you down. Remember it took Thomas Edison over 2,000 times to perfect the lightbulb.
f) Visualize success - don't be afraid to imagine success. Picture it in your head! Do a Vision board if this helps.
g) Plan & Strategize - Need to create a detailed plan. Do Research, talk to others, plan the plan!
h) Break down large goals - Divide and conquer the big ones. Make them very manageable, so you will have a sense of accomplishment. For instance, I want to save $5,000 so break it down to $1,000 every 6 months.
i) Practice makes perfect - The more you do something the better you get at it. When I was trying to learn to ride my bike I worked on it for over a week to feel comfortable. I think I probably fell over 50 times and skinned both my knees.
j) Seek support - surround yourself with positive people who are good for your psyche. When you are trying to learn something new reach out to someone who has already conquered it. when I couldn't tie my shoes I asked my brother to work with me, he was much better at it then I was. It's okay to get support!
k) Celebrate the small wins - Celebrate all your achievements
l) Learn from failures - Identify areas of improvement and adjust
Be determined it can take you far in life. Push to grow, realize you will have challenges, BE PERSISTANT!
